FAQ

Questions worth answering before you sign up.

How many people can join one trip?

Up to 24 players per trip while we’re in beta. You can run multiple groups, multiple rounds per day, and multiple side games simultaneously — the leaderboard handles all of them.

Does Group Caddie book tee times?

No. Group Caddie is for what happens after the tee times are booked: rosters, schedule, scoring, side games, the trip pot, and the recap. Use whatever booking site you already use for the actual times.

Which side games can you score?

Stroke, Stableford, Match Play, Scramble, Best Ball, Skins (gross or net, with or without carryover), Wolf, and Closest-to-Pin / Longest Drive bonuses. Multiple games can run on the same round — score once per hole, every game updates.

How does the trip pot work?

Each player chips in a fixed buy-in. Side-game winnings, daily bonuses, and skins payouts settle against the pot, so at the end of the trip there’s one number per player — paid out or owed. The organizer sets per-day allocations once at trip setup.

Does it work without service at the course?

Yes. Group Caddie stores scores locally on your phone and syncs the moment you’re back on signal, so you can keep scoring through a dead zone on the back nine.

Is there a native app?

Native iOS and Android apps are in the works. For now, Group Caddie runs as a full web app (PWA) you can install to your home screen — it’s mobile-first, scores offline, and opens full-screen like a real app, so you don’t have to wait on the App Store.

What handicap system do you use?

Player-entered handicap index, applied per round per the course’s slope rating. We don’t post to GHIN — this is for the trip, not your official record.

Can people who aren’t on the trip follow along?

Yes. Every trip has a read-only share link the organizer can hand out. The folks back home see the leaderboard, photos, and the recap — but they can’t edit anything.
